  • Increased awareness about the long term physical, emotional,  financial and social consequences of sexual abuse and human trafficking of young girls and boys
  • Mobilize communities to report acts of sexual violence against children

  • Encourage Jamaicans to use the phrase “Nuh Guh Deh!” to challenge current behaviors of men who sexually exploit children.

This year’s, “Protect The Children” Gala in aid of Human Trafficking and Child Abuse Prevention, is planned for Thursday, June 28, 2018 7:00pm-11:00pm at the brand new Crystal Ballroomlocated at The Venue in Fort Lauderdale.

​​​Being a victim of Sexual Abuse and human trafficking  usually has lasting negative impact on an individual’s wellbeing. 

FDWO Founder and CEO Lavern Deer along with Director of Programs Brittney Liburd, organizers of the Control of Human Trafficking Press Conference at Florida State Capitol in Tallahassee. At the podium members of the Florida State legislature, Representatives Russell and Asencio, and Senator Thurston, spoke to the press about this growing problem and its impact here in Florida, endorsing and supporting the bills and the FDWO. Senator Torres, Former US Attorney Pamela Marsh, Civil-Rights Attorney Ben Crump, and former Florida State Senator Maria Sachs also attended the conference showing their support for the bill,  “Ladies and Gentlemen, I want you to understand that of all the crimes in the world, human trafficking is the number one cash business. More than drugs, more than weapons. The trafficking in human lives,” said Sachs from the podium.  

The Female Development World Organization (FDWO) stood with elected officials, civil rights leaders, attorneys, and community members along with the National Council of Negro Women Inc. - Broward County Section (NCNW) at its Broward Cares TownHall March 22, 2018
